I thought that I would do this particular article as a follow up to my article on starting your own business as a teenager. Many young people today are focusing on standing out for many reasons. Whether it’s because you are considering education post high school, or are just trying to boost your resume for your next interview, improving your personal brand is essential in today’s world.
With our recent Internet-driven lifestyle, blogging has become one of the leading ways for people to get their voice heard. With websites like WordPress, blogging is easier than ever. As a writer myself, I have worked by the philosophy of ABW; or always be writing. In my opinion, it is the easiest way to separate yourself from the pack of like-minded workers. Besides, improving your communication skills is highly important when entering the job market or preparing for college applications.
You may be asking yourself, “What do I have to write about?” Well, I am currently writing a blog about writing a blog, so think about that one.
Truthfully, the answer is anything and everything. What do you do? What are your hobbies? Are you active? Do you work out everyday? Write a fitness blog.
Do you feel as though your neighborhood likes a distinct voice, or has one that just isn’t being heard? Write a community blog.
It can be highly personal or just for fun. You can publish it with one click and send it to the masses, or keep it locked up for your eyes only. The important thing is that it is yours and reflects you as an individual.
